The applicant must be familiar with remote Alaska limitations, able to work in inclement weather, and able to lift at least 50 pounds. The workweek will be based from Anchorage office and in the field present within the village W&S Operations 25% of the time with a minimum 12 site visits per year. Village travel will consist of 10-hour days seven days a week with housing and per diem provided when on slope and normal 40-hour work week while station in the Anchorage office. An on call emergency basis will require travel to the villages within 24 hours of notification is mandatory to perform safety investigations and other safety related events that will require the HSEA Administrator presence. The maintenance technician will be responsible for keeping the facilities operating and executing preventative or corrective maintenance throughout the facilities.   Essential Functions - Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues. - Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol. - Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.). - Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and maintain grounds including trash pick-up and snow removal. - Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures. - Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality. - Inspect alarm systems such as carbon dioxide and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when needed. - Effectively communicate with supervisor regarding building or safety concerns, planning, and scheduling repairs. - Attend to minor questions or concerns from guests. - Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies. Perform other duties as assigned.
