Overview

MECHANICAL ENGINEER (DETO-2023-18725) Bowhead is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the on-going mission-set at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). They should be able to Plan, design, and oversee the mechanical engineering design and development of project.

 

***This position will require full onsite work at the Bowhead office or Navy installation. No remote opportunity for this contract***

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering, and advanced mathematics. They may develop, design, and run tests, applying engineering principles and techniques.

Qualifications

***This position will require full onsite work at the Bowhead office or Navy installation. No remote opportunity for this contract***

  •  3+ years experience in mechanical design and test.
  •  Experience in mechanical engineering design and development. Current experience in use of CAD programs.
  •  Bachelors of Science in Engineering preferred.
  •  Must have valid Drivers lisense. 
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  •  Shipboard testing, testing within anechoic and other lab chambers, and customized test set-ups and designs highly desired.
  •  Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
