UIC Government Construction seeks a detail-oriented Controller to produce financial statements, including budget and forecast reporting with a high level of accuracy.
Essential Functions
Prepare monthly financial statements
Prepare budgets and forecast business activity
Record revenue according to GAAP
Perform cash reconciliations
Perform account reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries
Assist other departments by researching discrepancies and provide timely feedback
Prepare and file various tax compliance returns for sales, use, and other
Perform other tasks as needed.
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:
Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills for a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to work alone or as part of a team
Required Experience:
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience plus three (3) years construction accounting required
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Sage 300 experience
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs

If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
