Overview

RADAR Operator (SSETS-2024-21125):

 

Bowhead seeks a Radar Operator to join our team supporting the Advanced Sensor Systems Division B40 within the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B Department), at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). 

Responsibilities

The Radar Operator will work directly with the client supporting Navy and Marine Corps systems that include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and other Sensor Systems. They will provide support operating, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting various radar systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating and maintaining tactical Navy or Marine Corps radars sensors either onsite at test facilities or operationally fielded.
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot sensor hardware issues to the LRU following Navy or Marine Corps prescribed troubleshooting documentation for the particular radar being examined.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and isolate sensor performance issues to the software or hardware level.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess, record, and articulate the operational state and quality of operation of complex sensor systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Position requires 100% of work conducted at customer site.  

 Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
