Systems Engineer (VSE-2024-21372)

 

Bowhead is seeking a Systems Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, V Department specifically the CIAT program.

Responsibilities

This position requires a flexible individual with experience in Systems Engineering and Requirements Verification. The Systems Engineer will support the System Engineer Principal Area Lead (SE PAL) for the Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer (CIAT) program in System Engineering tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Specification updates using Microsoft Excel/Word
  • Change Management/Configuration Management SE Board support
  • Requirement Verification Matrices (RVM) generation
  • Test Observation Report (TOR) adjudication support
  • Requirement development based on customer needs

Qualifications

  • BS STEM Degree OR
  • Two to Four (2-4) years of General Surface Navy Combat Systems, systems engineering experience with one plus (1+) year of specialized experience with emphasis in one or more of the following:
    • Aegis Integrated Combat Systems
    • Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense
    • Element Level (Weapon, Sensor, or Combat Management System) Experience
    • Fire Control Operations
    • Familiarity with Aegis BL 9, BL10 and/or BMD 4

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
