Overview

PROJECT MANAGER (AT):

 

The Advanced Technology Project Manager for is responsible for overseeing and managing prototyping, kitting, and procurement projects from initiation to completion. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing programs to ensure successful delivery of innovative solutions within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with contract requirements. The successful candidate will combine project management skills, communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Program Oversight: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of prototyping projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for DoD clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication regarding program status, deliverables, and challenges.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to maintain project alignment with DoD requirements and goals.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project demands effectively.
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with applicable DoD regulations, security protocols, and contractual requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver program updates, status reports, and presentations to clients and company leadership.
  • Innovation and Problem-Solving: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technical staff to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Duties:

  • Define project objectives, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with DoD stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance, including schedules, budgets, and quality metrics, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Coordinate the development and testing of prototypes, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Facilitate team collaboration and provide leadership to cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure proper documentation of program activities, including design reviews, testing, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
    • Minimum of three (3+) years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, with a focus on prototyping or R&D projects (required).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, program management principles, and prototyping methodologies.
    • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and collaboration platforms.
    • Familiarity with technical disciplines such as systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering (preferred).
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as ITAR, DFARS, and NIST standards (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Leadership and team-building skills, with a collaborative mindset.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in office and workshop environments, including occasional visits to test sites or production facilities.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working on computers or reviewing technical documents.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 5% of the time, including to secure DoD facilities or contractor sites.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
