Sr. Project Controls Manager 

 

Job Summary:

 

The Sr. Project Controls Manager will be responsible for overall direction, coordination, administration, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.   

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure Contract Document Logs are established and maintained.
  • Prepare subcontract documents, change management reports, project budgets and other cost reporting documents.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets to report to management.
  • Interpret costs and complete financial projections.
  • Provide direction, support and assistance to the project team with the day-to-day administrative management.
  • Establish and maintain the project files and documentation systems.
  • Continually promote organizational change initiatives, suggest new ideas, and adapt to work within new structures and processes.
  • Continually seek to understand customer goals and needs and act with a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs and demonstrating value.
  • Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate opportunities.
  • Develop and write proposal documents for construction projects and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Be fluent in federal government contracting requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by company Code of Conduct daily.

Responsibilities

  • Requires a working knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as familiarity with industry practices.
  • Skills such as time management, cost control management, and preparing Purchase orders, Change orders, and subcontract documents.  
  • Familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with construction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize, resulting in a quality product to the client.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Must have excellent PC skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 20 years of work experience working for a General Contractor successfully supporting similar key responsibilities meeting and exceeding performance expectations.
  • Knowledgeable of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Experience overseeing multiple, diverse projects in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficiency within Timberline Construction software and any other project management software tools for managing/tracking projects and tasks.
  • Proficiency in bid proposal documentation and preparation.
  • Experience with Timberline Project Management and Procore software preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read text on a computer screen and in hard copy, stand, sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is required to enter information into computers via a keyboard or other peripheral device.
  • Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and moderately paced environment.
  • Continuously required to sit, hear and/or respond to verbal/audio cues, perform repetitive motions of hands and wrists, and read computer screen.
  • Occasionally required to stand or walk.
  • Rarely required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, bend, or reach with hands and arms.
  • Rarely required to push, pull and/or carry objects up to 10 pounds.

Environmental Conditions:

  • The work environment is that of a typical office setting.
  • In a large building in an urban setting.
  • May occasionally travel to a construction site.
  • May occasionally travel to rural areas.
