UIC Construction is seeking a Warehouse Specialist II to support daily warehouse operations under the direction of the Purchasing and Logistics Manager. This position is responsible for verifying incoming materials against receiving documents, identifying and reporting discrepancies or damage, and ensuring proper storage and inventory management. Duties include organizing and palletizing materials, monitoring inventory levels, reporting deterioration or damage, and preparing items for shipment. The Warehouse Specialist II plays a key role in maintaining an efficient, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
Essential functions will include:
Verify materials against receiving documents and note/report any discrepancies or visible damage.
Route materials to designated storage locations and store, stack, or palletize materials following UIC warehouse procedures.
Rearrange, organize, and take inventory of stored materials.
Examine stored materials regularly and report any deterioration or damage.
Remove materials from storage and prepare items for shipment.
Operate hand or power trucks to assist with warehousing duties, as needed.
Perform basic mathematics for inventory and shipping documentation.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to coworkers and clients.
Demonstrate motivation and flexibility in performing additional duties as assigned by Managers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle, move, or manipulate objects.
Frequently required to walk on uneven surfaces and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or squat.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
May exert similar physical effort in pushing, pulling, or positioning parts, assemblies, and equipment.
Often required to lift and move heavier items with assistance from other workers or with mechanical lifting devices such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or loaders.
Must maintain focus, situational awareness, and attention to safety in a physically demanding environment.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Regularly required to sit and use hands for handling, manipulating, or operating objects, tools, or controls; frequently required to speak and hear; occasionally required to taste or smell.

Working Conditions:

Employee must complete driver safety training and comply with all Authorized Driver policies and procedures.
