Overview

SR. OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT SPECIALIST (TRADOC):

 

Bowhead seeks a Sr. Operations & Support Specialist to support operations to the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Surgeon’s Office located in Fort Eustis, VA. The Sr. Operations and Support Specialist will provide oversight, analysis, planning, and coordination of medical readiness tasks at an Operational and Strategic level.

Responsibilities

  • Able to provide medical expertise across the spectrum of health service support issues. Communication skills enable coordination from TRADOC, DHA, TSG/MEDCOM and Subordinate Commands.
  • Writes Executive Summaries, Point Papers, and other DoD/Army level documents at a senior executive level, preparing and presenting PowerPoint and other written/oral presentations to Service Lines.
  • Able to conduct staff, interagency, and intra-agency coordination, processing of messages to include, but not limited to, Execution Orders, Requests for Information, Requests for Forces, and All Army Activities (ALARACT) messages related to assigned Commands, programs, initiatives, and actions.
  • Prepares Surgeon and other designated personnel for various readiness councils
  • Maintains situational awareness of emerging Army, Joint Staff, and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) readiness requirements as they pertain to readiness reporting, Personnel, Equipment on Hand, Equipment Readiness, Training, and Mission Essential Tasks.
  • Translates TRADOC’s objectives and requirements to strategy concepts and considerations that feed the Army’s Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) system to posture the Army for long-term efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Three (3+) years of experience as part of military operations in an active component division staff or higher organization developing plans and orders.

  • Experience working at a Medical Readiness Command and/or TRADOC Medical Center of Excellence.

  • Experience with medical operations and Soldier Readiness.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged period amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
